So let's dive in to help give you the best possible opportunity to shine! The journey starts with the all-important casting. Casting sessions can be nerve-wracking, but fear not! We're here to guide you through the best preparation tips, tricks, and what not to do to help you land your spot on the runway.

What to take, A Model's Guide to Runway Castings ;

#1 - Comp Cards and Portfolio

Your comp cards are your modeling calling card. Make sure to have several copies on hand, along with your portfolio showcasing your versatility and experience.

#2 - Comfortable Yet Stylish Outfit

Opt for an outfit that shows off your personality and style, but keep it simple and comfortable. A basic tank top and skinny jeans can work wonders, as it allows the casting directors to see your natural beauty and physique. At Australian Fashion we always like to encourage tight denim jeans, clean white tee and clean heels.

The runway isn't just about showing fashion, it's about gaining confidence. And I really believe that once you've got your confidence, you can wear anything, you can do anything.

#3 - High Heels

Ladies, don't forget your heels! Go for a classic pair that you can confidently walk in. ensure they are clean and in perfect walking condition, you don't want a wardrobe malfunction half way through with a heel break! For guys, bring a pair of clean, well-fitted dress shoes.

#4 - Hair and Makeup Essentials

Carry a small makeup kit for touch-ups and hairbrush or comb for any last-minute fixes.

We always encourage our models to pack a small model bag with any essentials you may need.

#5 - Snacks and Water

Castings can sometimes take longer than expected, so stay energized with a few healthy snacks and a bottle of water. Hydrate, hydrate hydrate!
